Reason #658 that people don't care about the SG: Power Trips

The Speaker of the Undergraduate Senate, Anthony Dunham, has decided to ban Senators from having laptops open during tonight's Special Session. Apparently somebody complained about Senators not paying close enough attention. Not only is this stupid because the evidence is available online for Senators to view, but it also makes the Senate look like a bunch of children incapable of doing anything because we all have ADD. And it makes the Speaker look like a father disciplining his children rather than the person that should be advocating on behalf of the Senate. Poor choice Mr. Dunham, poor choice. You're not that important. The SG is not that important. If Senators aren't capable of hearing this trial fairly while also checking their Facebook every now and then (or checking this blog), then they shouldn't be here.

Of course, the matter of this blog is the most unfortunate aspect of all of this. This rash decision (handed down within the last two hours) makes you wonder if somebody was trying to silence me. I won't flatter myself however, because I know I am not that important.

In any event, my updates will obviously be limited tonight. I will do my best to work in a post here and there during recesses, and will of course update you at the end of the night. In the meantime, if you are truly desperate for up to the second info, you can check out http://twitter.com/TheEagleOnline.
