Good Job, Mr. President

I have to give credit where credit is due. The SG is going to be hosting two forums this week on the subject of the AU shuttles. It is an opportunity for students to get their questions answered and express concerns about the shuttle system with the administration.

In years past, student complaints on any number of subjects have rarely been about decisions made by the school's administration, and are more often about the lack of communication that comes with those decisions: Example: three years ago Housing and Dining put new showerheads in the dorms with significantly lower water pressure. They were designed to save water. Saving water is great, but students were upset because they had no idea the change was coming, and were unaware of why it was taking place. This happened in the middle of the campaign for SG president, and President-to-be Vidulich promised that communications would improve in the future. That has been a common theme of every SG candidate since I have been here.

Well, President MacCracken has taken a very positive step towards improving communication by getting the administration to agree to hold these forums. Now, its true that there probably won't be very many students who bother to attend, and The Eagle probably won't bother to cover it, but it is a welcome effort nonetheless.

  1. I went to one of Vidulich's forums it was quite intersting and a lot of issues student brought up at the time, like metrocard discounts, he took on. We need more people like him.
