At least three candidates poised to enter race for SG Presidency

In October, I speculated about some people that I thought may run for SG President in the spring. Those names were based on little more than my own thoughts about who could win.

Now, according to different sources, it appears that three of those people are preparing to run:

Seth Rosenstein: He is a member of the Sentate, but a farily new one, and I wouldn't really consider him an insider. He is also a member of AEPi. When asked about his plans, he told me that he was "seriously considering" running. He also said that it was my blog post and the responses to it that first gave him the idea of running. I'll gladly take the credit.

Nirvana Habash: She was President of the class of 2011 (after having been VP) until leaving to spend last semester in London. Upon her return, she was appointed to a seat in the Senate. People within the SG have speculated about her being a possible candidate for some time now. When asked if she was going to run, she told me, "Yes, I am considering" it. She is also a reader of this blog, so bonus points for her.

Anthony Dunham: He is the former Speaker of the Senate. He performed very well while presiding over the impeachment trial of Matt Handverger. While I am still awaiting his official comment, it seems likely that he is planning to run.

If each of these candidates decides to run, we will have a very interesting race on our hands. If you have any inside information about other candidates that are preparing to run (or if you yourself are considering it), I want to know about it: michael.mayer[at]american.edu.

Note: A previous version of this post incorrectly stated that Nirvana Habash was a member of the Senate before going abroad.
