The Eagle, doing some actual reporting, contacted the GM of the Post Office Pavilion, where the Founder's Day Ball was supposed to take place. He said, "Even with the snowstorm, they were already in a situation where they were extremely low on time. If you don't [submit the contract early] there is a good chance we won't get back to you."
The VP had no comment. Remember, he will be talking to the Senate, and taking questions, this Sunday. I'll be there to cover it, so you can stay in bed.
