Rumors heat up surrounding Prescott impeachment

Multiple Senators have told me that it is a very real possibility that impeachment charges could be brought against VP Alex Prescott. The Senators that spoke to me, off the record, are unhappy with his overall job performance, but specifically with the Founder's Day Ball being delayed.

It seems like only yesterday that the SG was tarnished by the impeachment trial of former Comptroller Matt Handverger. I can only imagine the public backlash that would erupt if another executive were to be charged.

Senator Steven Dalton, aka The Lion of the Senate (despite his sometimes senseless bills), is scheduled to meet with Prescott and Director of Founder's Day Jacque Martin tomorrow to discuss what went wrong. Prescott will be presenting to the Senate on Sunday, and his presentation could be pivotal, as members will use it to decide whether or not to file impeachment charges.

  1. It wasn't Prescott's fault the Post Office Pavilion people took forever with the contract, or that 3 feet of snow fell during the week of contract negotiations

  2. But it was Prescott's fault that he didn't have contract negotiations done far in advance. You'd think the SG's signature event would be contracted at least a month out. That would have avoided the snow problem.

  3. contracts for major events are signed months in advance. Not doing so is negligence on the part of the planner, specifically because problems such as this one may arise.

  4. people need to fall back. impeaching prescott won't really solve anything. i feel like impeaching someone in the sg is the default solution to any problem. the senate needs to take a chill pill and stop wasting time. one thing i would like to see done is providing subscriptions to porn sites like we once did with napster. boom, problem solved. next?
