The Race for VP

The nominating convention is tonight, so we will know soon who the official candidates for each office will be. But why wait?

Two candidates have confirmed to me that they will be running for Vice President:
Maia Tagami, the VP of College Democrats. She claims to read the blog, so that bodes well for her chances, I think.
Jeremiah Headen, a suspended (at least that is what I understand, unsure of the exact circumstances) member of the Senate. He told me that "American University is lacking a sense of unity that binds all the students together" and that "this Founder's Ball mismanagement wouldn't happen under my watch." He also said that he had considered running for President, but chose to defer to Anthony Dunham who "knows how the school runs better than anyone I know. "

A source also informs me that Jenny Kim, member of the Senate, plans to run for the spot as well. She has not yet responded to a request for comment, which does not bode well for her chances. You must respect the blog.

That's all I know of. I'll have the official list when it becomes available.

Who do you like in this one?

UPDATE, 5:19 pm: Jenny Kim confirms in the comments section of this post that she will be running.

  2. Hello Mike Mayer,

I apologize for not getting back to you with an answer. I did not realize that you had sent me a facebook message asking me questions about this rumor about me running for Vice President. Unfortunately, I do not have the time to sit around facebook all day, for I am heavily and actively involved in Student Government, as I hold several positions within SG. But long story short, I AM running for Vice President.

I do understand that my response back to your questions were not speedy enough, however, I do not appreciate you painting a picture of me prior to the elections.

  3. Hahahaha - Mike Mayer says "respect" the blog, he is a complete joke. Couldn't even win the Presidency with the support of The Eagle...failure!

Anyway, your blog is an embarrassment, the only people who read it are in the SG.

  4. Jeremiah Headen is suspended from the Senate for nonattendance. If he won't show up for Senate, will he show up for his office hours?

  5. i find it interesting that the last three comments were posted so closely together. i wouldn't be surprised if jenny kim was responsible for all of them.

i think if its these three candidates only, maia has the best chance. she'd probably have my vote.

  6. I am pretty much a joke, it's true. But if you are going to criticize my blog, I'm sure you can find something better than "the only people who read it are in the SG."

  7. What about there's got to be something more in life than to blog about the SG? Get out much?
