The budget debate

The Senate is underway. The election of a new Speaker will take place very soon.

It seems that the other fight of interest will be over the budget. The SG's newly proposed budget significantly cuts the budget of Women's Initiative. The argument is that the new women's resource center is taking up a significant amount of student funds, and that WI should suffer because of it. Director of WI Sarah Brown and others are here to fight for the money that the usually get.

Last year, they received $30,000. This year, the proposed budget allocates them $17,000.
