Some Thoughts

First, there's this: http://www.theeagleonline.com/news/story/former-senator-meiselman-prescott-discussed-impeachment-before-summer

The power trip continues: Our esteemed Speaker has decided to begin enforcing a rule that all Senators must appear at tonight's session in business casual attire. It is true that this is technically a rule for all Senate meetings, but it has not been enforced. Apparently the Speaker feels that we will be unable to recognize the importance of these proceedings while wearing jeans. You know, it is a wonder more people don't run for these Undergraduate Senate seats. I mean, who wouldn't want to sit in Ward from 11 pm until 2 am every night while following a ridiculous dress code and not being allowed to use a computer? Sounds like a great time to me! Seriously, we should be representing the students, and therefore should be allowed to dress like students. Being forced to dress like we are more important than the rest of the student body hurts our image, and makes us forget why we are here.

Awkward: That is what the atmosphere is going to be like in the executive offices if Handverger keeps his job. Can you imagine having to return to work with these folks after they have put a great amount of effort into ensuring that you lose your job? Handverger is either a great man for not resigning, or a very foolish one.

Tonight: The final witness that is scheduled for the Complainants is set to go up. She is the Director of the Bike Lending program, somebody that works directly for the Comptroller. Then, the Respondents' witnesses will begin. They have seven scheduled. I imagine that these proceedings will take at the very least two more sessions after tonight, and very possibly more.

Once again, I will do my best to update throughout the night. If you want to watch the proceedings yourself, you can join us in Ward 5 at 11:15 pm.
