VP Prescott and the complainant claim that Handverger claimed to have worked 20 hours during a week in August, but did not show up to participate on a Student Activities search committee, and thus could not possibly have worked 20 hours that week.
Also, that Handverger missed multiple meetings among executives, the most recent one being earlier this afternoon. Secretary Meiselman reads a conversation that he had with the Comptroller via text message earlier today about whether or not he was coming to the meeting. It is clear that Handverger was disappointed that none of the executives stood up for him. Secretary Meiselman claims that even though the Comptroller was preparing for the trial, he is still required to show up for work. The Comptroller counters that preparing for a trail to prevent his impeachment should be considered part of his job. It is the old "working to save your job counts as your job" defense. Speaker Dunham rules in favor of the Secretary.
