Alan Change was approved by a vote of 6-0 in committee, and his nomination now moves forward to the full Senate.
Another interesting issue that I forgot to mention before: Ryan Hunter was elected as to a freshman seat in the election last week. However, because of his AP credits, he is not considered a freshman because of the number of credits that he has. He will be hear today to ask for a waiver so that he can be seated to the seat that he was elected to. According to Senator Dalton, however, that is not possible. So this has the potential to be interesting.
As a point of interest, I found out when voting last week that I am actually one credit short of being a member of the Class of 2010, which is the seat I hold. I took a semester off last year, but am still planning on graduating in May 2010. I am breaking this news here for the first time. Technically, I should never have been allowed to hold this seat. That is just some context for the debate that will be held on whether or not Mr. Hunter is seated.
Should be a lot of fun. We're about to get started...
