Prescott under fire over Founder's Day

The Founder's Day Ball has been postponed. People are unhappy. Is it the Vice President's fault? It seems like much of it was out of his control, but since he didn't do such a great job with Artemas Ward Week, perhaps he doesn't deserve the benefit of the doubt. This was the first year that there was a cabinet position created specifically for organizing this event. Jacque Martin, the Director of Founder's Day, apparently did not respond to a request for comment from The Eagle.

If I can ever be bothered, I will eventually write a long post about the failings of the executives of the SG this year. When they have done well, I have not been afraid to say so. But it seems like they have done more harm than good this year. I know it isn't easy, and many things are out of their control. But come on guys, what have you really done all year to make the lives of students better?

  1. Prescott's failings are undeniable and egregious. To not even have Artemas Ward week and then to botch Founder's? Terrible. Where's the Senate clamoring all over each other to be the one bringing up impeachment hearings? He's botched 2/3 of his big programming for the year; probably more than 2/3 since Spring Fling is only maybe 1/5.

  2. The executives, particularly the SG president, have been very supportive in letting me get things done on sustainability: duplex discount printing, raising money for the clean energy revolving fund, and putting pressure on the administration for aggressive carbon neutrality goals (2020). And if you don't think that impacts students' lives, tell that to the several hundred students in sustainability related majors.
